COMSOL

COMSOL Multiphysics is a finite element simulation platform for coupled physics problems across electrical, mechanical, fluid, acoustics, and chemical domains.

Licensing

COMSOL requires a valid license. Send your license details to support-hpc@dipc.org so we can verify it and grant you access to the binaries.

Loading the module

module load COMSOL/6.2

To see all installed versions across clusters, check the software catalog or run module spider COMSOL.

TMPDIR=/scratch/$USER/comsol_tmp/$SLURM_JOB_ID
mkdir -p $TMPDIR

rm -rf $TMPDIR

Temporary directory

COMSOL uses /tmp by default for scratch files. On compute nodes /tmp is small and fills up quickly, causing No space left on device errors. Always redirect with -tmpdir to a directory under /scratch as shown above.
